XS was a Punk band formed by three senior high school friends at Concord-Carlisle High School, Concord, Massachusetts, U.S.A in 1982: Glenn Angell (guitar), Greg Hogan (bass), and Jeff Oliphant (drums). This lineup played at the high school talent show in 1983 with Hank Lynn (vocals) and Katie Blodgett (vocals) playing a original and cover songs. Peter Harvey (vocals), joined XS in spring of 1983 and then the band began writing new, original songs featured on the Forever Never Came LP. The band was unsigned, so in true D.I.Y. style, they self-funded the recording and pressing of the album and started their own record label, Bird Of Prey, in 1985. XS played local shows in the Boston metro west suburbs (most notably opening for D.R.I. in Jeff’s basement), in Waterbury, Vermont, (opening for The Wards), and live on a college radio station. XS broke up in 1986.
